Merry Christmas!

I want to thank you, my readers, for your enthusiastic support this past year, in reading and in communicating with me about these rugs and their designers and weavers.  I love doing this research, and discovering designers or work I didn’t know about, but I really appreciate all of your interest, and for joining me on this exploratory journey!

I’m also wishing all of you a joyful Christmas and holiday season. Despite what seem like troubled times, let’s each resolve to look for, and to express kindness, generosity and joy in the new year!

Here’s a start, with this season’s joyful little design!

  1. What are you referring to when you say these troubled times? We have the lowest unemployment rate 3.7% that we have had in years.
I love your Instagram page. I have been collecting and embroidering vintage Swedish embroidery kits for about 12 years now. I love the graphic designs from the 60’s and the 70’s

    1. Thank you, Kate — I’m glad you are enjoying sharing this mid-century Swedish work via my Instagram page and blog! When I say “troubled times,” what I mean is that while there are so many challenges we face as a world– care of our fragile environnment, equal access to education, justice and opportunity, to name just a few– the rancor and lack of civility in public discourse, for me at least, undermines our collective ability to pull together and solve big problems.
